I listened the official tape and made a transcript of a portion of last weeks board meeting. It makes for some pretty comical reading. I'm keeping this short because I want you to click on the link and tell me what you think. I tried to make it easy to follow by color coding and initialing. Keep in mind I did this transcript and it is to the best of my ability. I do not know how to type so it was challenging. Plus too many rock concerts have compromised my hearing. I especially want to hear from the people who seem to know it all. Mike, CFinformed, and firefighter- I am waiting with baited breath.Remember-this is a portion of the June 28th meeting. Now imagine an hour and a half of this.

Please allow me to continue to compare how our pilot & co-pilot (Dr. H & KS), cabin crew (CG, BH, TD, KP, BG) and passengers might function to help us agree on our destination.
Are we going to Hawaii or Bahgdad?
Here are some guidelines that I hope may be useful.
1. If we cannot agree on solution statements (related to our future action) then we must default to our problem statements (related to our future action).
2. If we cannot agree on problem statements (related to our future action) then we must default to our goal statements (related to our future action).
3. If we cannot agree on goal statements (related to our future action) then we must default to our solution statements (related to our CURRENT PROCESS).
Note: Our CURRENT PROCESS is 'Robert's Rule of Order'. Another process is the 'creative problem solving process'. Facilitator Jim Zwisler was helping us use the 'CPS process'.
4. If we cannot agree on our solution statements (related to our CURRENT PROCESS) then we must default to our problem statements (related to our CURRENT PROCESS).
5. If we cannot agree on our problem statements (related to our CURRENT PROCESS) then we must default to our goal statements (related to our CURRENT PROCESS).
6. If we cannot agree on our goal statements (related to our CURRENT PROCESS) then we must ask for help to recover.
At this point each of us must ask ourselves some questions. Do I want to operate within an environment of trust and respect or do I want to operate within an environment of fear and anger?

Anyone who questions where the triumvirate mentality came from should attend a BOE meeting. It quickly becomes very apparent where the lines are drawn, and the fact of it is that those lines are not strictly drawn along Silver Lake vs. Cuyahoga Falls lines.
I also think that once one sees the manipulating and manuvering that goes on to maintain those lines, you begin to understand where the "us against them" mentality comes into play.
Have you ever stopped to ask yourself why, when the administration never really looked at closing Silver Lake, a citizen's group needed to be formed to protect it?
See Rat, the mudslinging comment is where your argument looses steam. Your neighbor has been seen and heard all over town slamming Kellie and Barb. She even did this in front of several candidates that were not elected. From before the election to now, that has been her MO, not smart. The unfortunately elected board president as well.
So I would have to guess that that as long as the mud is slung from the west side of the exressway, it's a crime, but from the east, it's prefectly acceptable?
Patrick, I got to thinking about your comments about Kellie's agenda. With all the mudslinging that's been going on, have you considered calling or emailing Kellie and talking about your concerns with her? You should give her the opportunity to share her thoughts and ideas about our district and its future before making a judgement call. You just might find that her agenda isn't as nefarious as you've heard.
Tiger, you might want to consider doing the same with Mrs. Dunphy.

First of all I have never made this a SL vs. Falls issue. I have some very close friends in SL. Secondly I have not mentioned nor dwelled on the fact that Newberry was closed. Everyone accuses me of it but I have not. I have continued to point out the inequities in the district. As you point out, I fund the entire district as well. And it does piss me off that I pay the same rate as everyone else and see more money per pupil year after year go to SL children. If it were Preston children it would piss me off too. I also am tired of SL having average class sizes of 17 or 18 while the rest of the district has 25 or more per classroom. And just to satisfy your Newberry conspiracy theory- I saw the real numbers and reasons. Have you? I saw the numbers from the state that show Newberry and Sill being the only schools that had under reported students, while the rest of the district was over reported. Coincidence? Maybe you think so, but I don't. I don't think that I should pay the same tax rate as you and be subjected to false information and out right lies. I know which school cost more to run with the least amount of students. I know what the specs of project recovery were. Do you?
And as for mudslinging- Your friend down the street approached friends of mine in SL during the campaigning and said some pretty harsh things about me. Luckily they had seen the very same reports I had. They understood that it had nothing to do with us vs. them mentality. It had everything to do with what was right.
To Support our schools- I referenced SL in my Email because Newberry was the ONLY property looked at. And SL uses more natural gas per pupil than any other school. It was most cost effective there.
Taxpayer, blacktiger, and motherof03- Thanks for your support. It does my heart good to see that there are people who understand why I do this.
