I fought the law and the law won

Alrighty, let's have a little legal 101. First, you cannot declare something to be confidential that is not by law confidential. You see if that were possible, governmental entities would declare everything confidential and the public would never be informed. Second, if you are going to cite bylaws and Ohio Revised Code to someone, make sure that you are not violating any yourself first. The Scolding of Kellie document signers have violated Sunshine Laws as well as ORC. ORC states that there are specific reasons to go into executive session and the consideration of the discipline of a Board member for conduct related to the performance of his/her duties or his/her removal from office shall not be held in executive session. You also cannot have three people (AKA: Quorum) taking action without the knowledge of the public and the full board. My feelings are this. A majority vote is running our district. The following letter I find petty, misleading and some statements are false. I fail to see why this blog is so upsetting to them. If you don't like my opinions there is a simple solution. Don't read this. Spend your time doing what I do. Try to follow the money and look for ways to save (sending tapes to my house isn't one of them) , places to make cuts, program consolidation, freedom for classroom teachers to teach their style not what their told to teach, there are so many better ways to spend time serving the public, than looking for ways to make me miserable. I would also like to drop a line and thank Barb Gunter for not signing the Scolding of Kellie. From what I was told she was left out of the loop until 6:45 PM and held up in a meeting with the Pres until 7:05. Now you know why they rushed in and we started late. Nothing like springing something like this on someone and expecting them to sign it. She stated that she did not agree with the letter, but to hand it to her at the last minute was incomprehensible.

The Letter from the Triumvirate

I hope our community is really looking at the ramifications of the actions of those 3 boards members. We all need to be aware that what they are doing is against the law!!! Click here for more information!

Giant Eagle on Graham Rd. has copies if you haven't gotten yours yet. There's a picture and eveything.

The laws that were broken by the triumvirate weren't mentioned, but this will put it on the Beacon Journal's radar screen and I would expect them to be much more hard hitting.

Go Kellie!

You should understand, Fallswatcher, all that redirecting comments from the subject matter of the post that they are directed towards serves to reveal is the commentors agenda, and your rebuttal simply seals the deal. You might not like what D Fross has to say about the issue, but you didn't really give any cohesive argument against what they had to say. It is telling that you didn't even touch the ACLU argument with a 10 foot pole. I wish you had a law background as well. Any attempt to use it would be be quickly squashed by the district's rush to close down any and all extra-curricular clubs and the backlash that would cause. Happy litigation!!

And your lack of concern about the illegal manuevers of the triumvirate is just another symptom of your allegiance.

You seem to be unable to accept the opinion that is included in what you call "attacks." And keep in mind that the failure of last year's levy would not have jeapordized the non-taxpayer supported extra-curriculars.

Do you realize that the law says that in order to ax the OURSS Club, the school would also have to ax the Chess Club, the Ski Club and the Tiger Backers, among others? There were some very informative links on the ACLU site that was linked in one of the posts above.

My opinion is that our district cannot afford to fight the battle that would be waged in trying to do away with this group. Are your children signing up against your wishes? If they aren't then what is your problem really? And if they are then where have you failed in instilling your values into your kids?

And once again, I will ask: what are we going to do about our school board members that have broken the law?

Please allow me to state what I understand to be facts. About 10% of every species has a genetic predisposition to be homosexual. Some species are 100% homosexual.

But, that is not the real concern. The real concern is to answer the following quesion. Will our diffences keep us from cooperating to accomplish our mission and unifying purpose?

What do you think (not feel)?

To: The kind people who are interested in a unifying purpose statement,

This statement was orignally posted on the 'Help our School' forum in 2005. Here is a tentative statement offered to you for your consideration - as follows:
-=-=-=-=-=
Prototype ideas and applications to do the following -- within the next 12 months:

1. Develop ideas for new sources of income AND SKILLS for our school and from/to our community.

2. Satisfy the information needs of our school children AND the
residents and property owners of our community.

3. Strengthen the symbiotic relationship of our school to the residents and property owners of our community.

Using the prototype above, apply the tools, techniques, and training to do the following -- within the next 5 years:

1. Benefit from new sources of income and talent for our school and from/to our community.

2. Report on the satisfaction of our residents with our school to
manage time, costs, & quality of service.

3. Access the symbiotic relationship to satisfy the needs of our residents & our school and continue the improvement process.

Please -- just imagine the variations on the above statement.
Imagine a future of unconditional positive regard.

Thank you for your consideration.
